Why does my ram work with one CPU and no a different in?

Hi,

So let me explain. I put in my 25$ used CPU in and it boots up. But when I Put my FX 6350 in it doesn't. I found it was because of the ram because I tested different ram with it: but I just want to know why it does that. Any ideas?

thanks iosman

Try clearing the CMOS.

It could be compatibility issue. Check if your motherboard supports the RAM.

I tested different ram with it.

What you mean with different ram?

Are both Ram sticks of the same manufacturer or not?

If it's the first it could be a Ram compatibility issue.

If it's the later it could still be the problem.
