unexpected shutdown anomoly

when I tried to 'restart my pc ( Its an older backup made approx 5 yrs ago). , it unexpectedly just shut down. When I then pressed the power button it attempted to start but then couldn't and shut down. I found that if I waited 5 min or so it would then start. I read an opinion to restore power settings to default. I had the computer set to sleep after 2 hrs. aside from that its default. 3.70 amd Athlon x4860k Quad core processor gigabyte f2a88xm-deh mknssdre512gb hard drive 16 gig ram(4 chips total) boot mode: uefi with secure boot disabled windows 10 64bit the above generated by belarc advisor. I did a restart just before doing this and it Did restart. I just want to understand why I had the issue. thanks PaulO
