Hey all,

Any advice on where I can improve and/or reduce on? I'm strictly building this computer for gaming purposes (FPS mainly).

looking at the numbers, I think the RX 5700 XT is a better deal on graphics, being cheaper and outperforming the Nvidia card, but I think that what you have there looks fine. 970 Evo Plus is a really good drive if you have the extra cash (if it's still on sale then it's a better deal IMO)

If pure gaming performance is the goal then I'd go with this build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GZPzmq

At 1440p the games are more GPU dependent so a better performing GPU would do you well.

Currently the Ryzen 3700x is the value for money sweet spot for gaming CPUs and the Radeon 5700xt sits at the point of inflexion before the GPU price-performance curve goes haywire. That said, if you want really high refresh gaming >120fps then Intel i7 or i9 and Nvidia 2080 super can do it but you end up paying 50% more for those last few fps.
