I have everything but the case. Do I really need the case for it to turn on? Other than that, everything is plugged in correctly but it still won't turn on.

Do you have both the 24pin connector and the 4pin CPU connector plugged in?

Have you tried 1 stick of RAM at a time?

If you have no case how are you jumping the motherboard pins to start the system?

Yes, I have the pins connected and plugged in, both the 4pin CPU and the 24 pin, and I have tried one ram stick at a time, but I am new to this (obviously) and I didn't realize that I had to jump the motherboard pins. How would i do that? I'm ordering a case but it just hasn't come in yet.

Look at your motherboard manual, the front pin connectors for your case attach there for the power switch, reset switch, HDD light, speaker, etc... find the two pins for the power switch and jump them with a paper clip. Does the system come on?
