Setting up second monitor

I'm looking to add another monitor onto my PC, I have a second monitor with VGA cables but also have a VGA to DVI converter.

I have tried using both VGA and the DVI converter but neither are working. I have also tried using another monitor aswell that also is VGA and a DVI converter same result.

The only thing I can think of is the monitors im using are close to 10 years old? But I am able to use both monitors on my old PC for a dual screen set up.

I have attached a picture of the back of my PC if that helps.

plug the second display into your GPU display port, not the Motherboard
