Troubleshooting first power-up

Hi, First time building. Very much a novice and need help. I built the following machine: pcpartpicker.com https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/gfZxFT/modest-amd-gaming-build (Don't have a permalink from the original parts list...not sure this is the exact part list i used, seems to be slightly different from 3 weeks ago.}

Having trouble with first-time boot. PC's power seems to run for a few seconds and then shut down / start up again. I get no video at all, and no noises/beeps... pressing "Delete" on keyboard seems to have zero effect.

Couple of questions- Should i have the monitor plugged into the MB or into the Video Card slot? Should I be using a keyboard with USB connection, or an older "round Pin" type of cord that plugs into the older slot in the MB i/o panel? Maybe a PS/2 connection?

If someone could help I would appreciate it. I'm starting to regret trying to build this for my son.

Let us know which component's are different.

Uninstall/ reinstall graphics driver. Go to GPU website, get latest version.

Monitor plugs into graphics card.

Keyboard plugs into USB

The old PS/2 connection is for backward technology and for diagnosing certain issues.
