Can someone please give me an answer to what the lit red cpu led on the msi meg c570 Ace means. Is that a confirmation that the cpu is bad?
In general terms, when a motherboard's LED is remaining ON than there is an issue with the CPU. If it blinks or stays on briefly then it's not an issue and was able identify the CPU. Assuming this is about POST LEDs on a motherboard.
I don't know your part list but if you have AMD then safely check for bent pins from the CPU. If there are any bent pins then fix it carefully with a pair of tweezers or with your pinky finger if really gentle.
Vice vera for Intel's pin this is on the motherboard's socket and they lean in a certain angle. If one or many pins are sticking out of place then has to be carefully fixed.
Could also be an undetected CPU because it's incompatible with the motherboard's BIOS or worse wrong socket/wrong MOBO model that is supported for that particular CPU. The other scenario is a worn out CPU because it was overheated but highly unlikely. Another is not properly installed the correct way if building a new computer.
Helps to have a part list but that's a quick gist of it.
Yes a parts list would help. Possible bent pin. Reseat the cpu. 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen? Manual should say what that light is. Are you positive it's for the cpu?
