what are you looking to do with it? My recommendations are going to differ if your doing video editing vs gaming vs general use.

Mostly gaming/homework with a small interest in editing/programming. Note that any build is probably better than my Laptop right now...

the setup you have should work for casual gaming as well as editing/programing. It won't max games out and will have problems with intense video editing, but for what it sounds like you will be doing, it will suffice. Personally if it were me, i would either increase the budget or wait a little while until you can increase the budget in order to create a build that has more room to grow and expand to your needs.
