It has been some time sense I attempted to put together a rig. Need some advice with what I have picked out so far. My real questions are what else would you think I need? As well as how powerful do you think this current set up really is? Price is key!

its a pretty decent budget build. probably run games at mid settings at 60fps. high settings maybe 25-30fps. i don't see it running any games at max settings however.

Thanks for the quick advise. Any suggestions that would be cost friendly to give it a bit more power?

The 270X should be able to handle 1080p gaming well. It gets 45fps on BF4 on ultra.

what source do you get your information from? I've got crossfired 280x and get 60+fps, a 270x is not going to handle bf4 on ultra settings with 45fps.

The average FPS for the 270X over a few sources (including these) was usually 45. BF4 is optimized for AMD, and the 750 Ti ran it somewhere between 20-35fps on ultra with 2xMSAA.

that second site has it at an average of 35fps. Now to be fair, we don't know what brand or series cards they are using in these tests. They may be using super clocked versions while others are doing stock versions. From personnel experience, since the 270x you have selected is the exact same company and series (sapphire dual x) as my 280x, on less demanding scenes or games you can probably manage to run the game on ultra. But as soon as stuff starts happening i would expect some slight lag getting worse as the scene gets more demanding and vise versa.

Could you perhaps provide a link to the specific items you would suggest for this build?

I agree with his point about the RAM, but his exact choices aren't my recommendation.

I would recommend this. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-khx1600c9d3k28gx

There isn't much of a price difference. What could I expect if I went with your recommendation over my current choice?

It's faster RAM with more bandwidth.
