Tips on my first Gaming PC...

I'm thinking of building a gaming rig this summer for about 1000 (nothing over 1200) I already have a desk, chair, and a monitor so all i need is the case and the guts. If you could make it cheaper, that would be great because i already have 400 saved up, and by next paycheck Ill put down about 300 to that. I was thinking about a GTX 770 for the GPU
