Need help with first build, looking at Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150

I found a nice deal at microcenter where i can get the i504670k and Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150 bundled for $275 after tax. The motherboard, in this deal, costs $105 but it's discounted $40 once it's bundled.

I'm building this build on the cheap for mid-tier gaming. I plan to overclock but it's not essential. I hope that this is somewhat future proof (in terms that I can upgrade components easily for the next 3-5 years.) I don't see myself adding additional component to my build, only to replace them.

With that being said, I'm wondering if there's any reason to choose another motherboard. I chose this one without much research other than it's a z97, is cheap, and is well reviewed at http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2014/05/11/z97-motherboard-group-tests/1
