SQUIDBOX - First build

Dear community, I found this website today, purely by chance and can't believe my luck - what a resource. I'm hoping there are some clever folk out there who could give my proposed components list a once over. I tried to get some help from Novatech today, but they weren't really into helping me :-(

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3hHGnQ

My main concerns are: Could I be using more compatible parts?

Or perhaps I'm over-killing it with the cooling, money I could be using to buy a better GPU?

My main goals for this box would be Intense Graphic design and Film editing, with some rendering in AfterEffects. Music production and some gaming. (Defo want to play FarCry4 when its out)

This will be my first build, and I hate getting things wrong :-P

Love to hear your opinions,

Matt Squid x

Would love your opinion PhantomT. Your Vidar Mk2 looks insane. x

looks pretty good to me! Kind of don't need the cooling though. Unless you're overclocking.

Thanks for the reply rchar081. I was thinking that - the stock fan will be enough you reckon?

I was wondering, a lot of people seem to use i5 or i7's more than AMD cpu's, but I read that video work likes multiple cores (this one having 8) and seemed such a good price for that. Not shooting myself in the feets am I?

the I7 is generally one of the best out there. I would recommend getting it if it's within your budget. If not the AMD will be fine

Hey, hows the Time Machine fairing?

pretty good actually, Although I swapped my case out for a Corsair 900D. Then I added a custom water loop for my cpu so it looks a lot different now... Still need to sleeve my cables, and buy new fans and such. But it's coming along!
