So i ve been playing a lot (I MEAN A LOT) of DayZ Standalone. But i'm lagging a lot, as in even on very-low 15-30 fps. So i have read that DayZ is a cpu eater but i mean my gpu is REALLY bad so would a gpu be better or cpu?

My specs:

fx 4300

gt 610

tx 650

Asus M5A78L-M LX

You definetly need a better GPU..

Well as you point out your GPU is kinda poor too, so... ideally you need to upgrade both.

To start with figure out how much you have to spend then go to a pc review site like tomshardware, they have monthly articles for CPU/GPU recommendations that cover many of the popular choices, logical increments may also be worth checking out tho you've gotta hunt down your own reviews

http://www.logicalincrements.com/

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106.html

Then combine the results with your current hardware in a build and post the permalink.

Is a fx 8350 & gtx 760 a good combo?

Yeah they're popular parts (I'm not a pc gamer btw), amd gpu's usually provide better bang for your buck tho nvidia are usually more power efficient, which could be a factor if you don't wanna upgrade your psu too.

IIRC nvidia are due to have some new cards out in a few months so the 760 maybe getting replaced sooner rather than later.

That might be good to though I mean new cards = old cards go down in price right? And I mean I might need to get a fx 6300 (or 6350) because I'm on a tight budget. Is there a really a big difference between the 6300 & 8350?

Yeah new cards usually lead to a price shuffle, 6300 vs 8350 kinda depends on day z, if it's got good multi threaded support then you'd get better performance of the 8 core 8350, otoh a 6300 might well be good enough to give you a decent bump in performance, prolly check day z forums for advice?
