Hi guys, this is going to be a build for my friend. he already has monitors, keyboard and mouse. The System will be used for running games at 1080p on 3 monitors. Any advice/things i need to change. Note- one of the Nf-F12's is going to be mounted to the back of the cpu cooler.

I was concerned with the heat output of 290x's hence the reason I didn't go with them. I also see your point about windows 8. Is it true however, that the standard version of Windows 8 doesn't support more than 16gb ram, like Windows 7 home premium?

The hot R9 290X is the reference model, not the aftermarket model.
In regard to your question, no it's false. The max limit for windows 8.1 is 32GB
