Upgrading from Gaming Laptop to Gaming Desktop

I currently use a Leovo Ideapad Y570. Because I will be moving to a permanent residence within the next month or so, I am looking to purchase and build a gaming desktop that is overall more powerful than my laptop. I have not built one before, but I can teach myself how to do that. My budget is around $600, but I am willing to go over if it will prevent any bottlenecking. Mouse, headset, and keyboard are intentionally left out as I already have those. I do not plan on overclocking this build.

Edit: The main goal performance-wise is to play most current and future games on Medium settings or greater.

I'm not too keen on having a dual-core processor in a gaming desktop, so I'm most likely going to go with your $700 suggestion. I was thinking about upgrading from an Athlon II to an FX-6300 anyway.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

Change the PSU, it's gonna make a big BOOM. And i don't think you need a sound card, but i don't anything about AMD CPU and that Mobo

What PSU would you reccommend with this kind of build? I read somewhere that you should have ~100-200W of overhead (unless you can indeed have too much of it).

Like 300 W and i recommand Corsair's Stuff and also at least 80+ Bronze rated

Unfortunately, Corsair's PSUs don't go lower than 430W. However, I did manage to find this.

You know it's not great, even dangerous when it looks like this
