GF Build: Is she overclocking? If no, don't get overclockable parts that are cheaper.

I'd grab a cheaper mobo.

I was told Kingston SSD's use an unpopular form of memory saving something called like asynchronous memory or something idk, you could still get a 120gb samsung evo for like $80.

Is she absolutely in love with that case? there are decent ones for cheaper.

PSU: I'd suggest a Corsair RM850 watt, even at that, i wouldn't get 850 maybe like a CX650 or whatever is in that range.

Why 2 optical drives??

If you got the asus z97 lga1150 mobo, you wouldn't need the fan controller bc you can control the fans on the bios or (i believe) there is a program after you boot up windows that you can use to control your fans. Hell, maybe the mobo you selected has an onboard fan controller. I would research it.

Your build: I don't think you need to spend more than like $120 on a mobo for your build.

why seperate the 1tb and 3 tb hdd? how is 3tb not enough lol.

16gb of ram is insane for gaming, just stick with 8gb. cuts the price in half.

again i would check online for info on your mobo to see if you have a fan controller in the bios. mine did!

the mouse you picked, I have it. me and my wife found it extremely comfortable and perfect sensitivity. I'd suggest that for your gf too (she didn't have a mouse selected in her build...)

No she doesnt care about the case, as long as its simple and if the optical bay is concealed it has to open to the right (facing the front) and it needs to be a full tower at least (she has 30" between her desk and floor and a midtower would be too low, she just cares about how it runs, it has to have a window tho. Reason is I'm shoving a NZXT Hue in there so she can get her purple effect. She will not be over clocking, if you want to correct it feel free to. I'm not that picky tell it comes to mine...hahaha, the power supplies I want Gold or Higher ratings. Separate drives, reason being is 1 terabyte is for everything besides music and videos/tv shows (I dont have cable). 16gb of ram (in mine at least) for the video/music encoding while gaming. She didnt have one selected cause shes got one in perfect condition that she used on her laptop, that she already loves. Honestly as far as the optical drives are concerned, there isnt a reason, I just want the front of the case to look like nothing was left out.

if you can wait a bit i can try to modify her layout. you could save easily $100 or so.

ok so i splurged a little and ended up with about the same price, but with good quality, sensable parts.

that case is so dang sexy. here's a white one someone used ($25 more-ish) http://pcpartpicker.com/b/2KJxFT

I wanted to use that, but i tried to keep in budget haha

no limit was 2,100 for hers and mine each :) And I know right, the corsair 760t black is what I may go with or the corsair 750D im not sure yet, however I will have the 760t either way, its so nice.

Yea, I'm dropping some serious coin on these things, they are both enthusiast/gaming computers.

Maybe this will suffice? excellent cheap fullsize case. You could even save more money by getting a ssd with half the storage. like $70! If she really wants a kraken system, then keep it, but if not i would suggest a cpu cooler and worry about the fans cooling the graphics card

Eh, its not her, I love the water coolers, I'm obsessive about how cold I can get the system, lol, she doesn't overclock at all tho, just my preference. Has to be full case, because her desk is 30" tall from the floor...-.- midtower would be too short
