Is the new Devil's canyon core worth it? I'm planning on gaming and some Very mild overclocking.

Honestly? Either or. The only real difference is the TIM between the cpu and the ihs, and that only improves temps by a couple degrees C. Besides that, they claim better overclockability, but most reviews and users I've seen haven't done any better on overclocks.

If you can get the 4690k for about $20ish more, it's worth it.

Meh... the difference between the two CPUs aren't much. Main improvement to the 4690K is the TMI, which will allow for better overclocks. It's only about $20 more, so sure, I would get it.

If you have intel Ivy bridge, it's not worth it, sandy bridge, or anything before that, the update is worth it. :)
