My budget is $1100 - $1150

I'm still thinking about taking of SSD for a better GPU like the 280x but I need opinions on that.

I'd drop the ssd to get better gaming performance with a better gpu. Also I think you should be able to find cheaper ram with the same specs. The stock cooler should be fine for a non overclocked i5.

Good ideas. Cheaper ram and the stock cooler would save him ~$50 that could go elsewhere without really impacting performance.

Since your budget has a bit of room, I would go with this. I found a better gpu and a semi-modular psu (which will definitely help in that small case) that bring you in at right under $1150. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/x6zzFT

If you do decide to drop the ssd (I went with a hybrid drive in this case). You could get a 290 http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/cG4K23

or a GTX 770 (4GB version) http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/XQbFK8

Hope those help put your options in perspective!

I live in Canada so all those go past my Budget :)

Even if you made the changes Superkevster suggested?

I figured using the ca.pcpartpicker would adjust the pricing to be fairly accurate. If I switch back that first one is under $1000 for us in the States.

Sorry :(
