Not guaranteed. It depends if your motherboard was made before or after the BIOS update. To be sure it works get a Z97 motherboard

I am running the new BIOS that will support Devils canyon. The BIOS is very stable 1504.

Here's the thing, yes it does support the 4690k with a bios update. If you get lucky and the motherboard you order comes with the bios already you're set to go. Otherwise, you'll need a previous gen CPU (like a 4670) first to flash the bios so that it will recognize the 4690k.
