Modding mobo for a mATX rig.

Hello, so I'm building a mATX gaming rig with a Gigabyte GA-z97MX Gaming 5 mobo. ( https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz97mxgaming5 )

I was wondering if anyone knew anyway to recolor the red parts white, or silver. I'm trying for a clean, black and white/silver build.

I was thinking of just sanding it down but I don't know if that would affect the quality of the thermal properties. Is there any thermal pain that would be good for it rather than normal spray paint?

Thanks in advanced

Do you know any paints that would not act as an insulator?

How do you think just sanding off that layer of paint and just leaving it as silver would look?
