Hi, I used to have a laptop but after having the laptop for two years the laptop fried. I want to build a gaming desktop for $850 without the peripherals. Will I get the best bang for my buck with this build http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/vortex25565/saved/pnpmP6

Looks solid for the money. Priorities are where they should be, with the biggest portion of your budget going to the gpu.

For $850 that's a good build. You can pick up a solid 128GB SSD for $68 more and that would put you very very close to your budget (in addition to your current HDD). You will be amazed at the boot speed and it will allow you to put critical applications on it for fast load times. I can't recommend a SSD more.
