I have the windows 7 os disk but no optical drive. I need to put it on the ssd though.
Which of these things do you have?
Access to another computer that has an optical drive
A USB drive
An external optical drive
usb and access to another computer that has an optical drive.
I want my SSD drive to be my boot drive
You could remove the optical drive from the other computer if possible and if it's a SATA drive, then install your OS that way.
If not you can use that existing computer and online guides to make a bootable USB drive loaded with the installation files from your Windows 7 disc, then install with the USB drive.
Could i possibly replace the 2.5inch hdd in my laptop with the 2.5inch SSD then put the windows 7 disk in and install it like that?
