And would there be any alternatives to save about $150-200?

  • If you want to save a bit, you can reduce the SSD to 120GB, unless there is a necessity to utilise the 256GB.
  • If you plan on crossfiring (i.e. adding another R9 290) then I'd suggest getting a bigger PSU (wattage wise)
  • Or you can change to an AMD CPU, (e.g. FX-8320) which is cheaper and has 8-cores. If you prefer to stick with Intel, then that's fine.

Everything else seems great for the value.
