I will need to add a optical drive and I am not using wired wifi so I will need an adapter. This is my build and I need opinions and improvement please. My max budget is £550

I am from uk and this is a gaming pc and web browsing only.

I will be using this pc for games like DayZ, rust, metro last light, bf4, wolfinstein etc.

Thank you for your help.

Here's the best I could do:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Type Item Price
CPU Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor £159.82 @ Amazon UK
Memory Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory £58.99 @ Amazon UK
Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £39.99 @ Amazon UK
Video Card Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB Dual-X Video Card £119.00 @ Amazon UK
Case Zalman ZM-T4 MicroATX Mini Tower Case £21.23 @ CCL Computers
Power Supply EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply £36.81 @ Amazon UK
Optical Drive Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer £11.32 @ CCL Computers
Wireless Network Adapter TP-Link TL-WN881ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter £12.00 @ Amazon UK
Other MSI H97M-G43 £63.77
Total
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available £522.93

With the remaining budget I would recommend the following (in order of priority):

  • better PSU, possibly a 550W XFX that's about £45 or the EVGA 600B.

  • better wifi card. (providing the chosen motherboard has the correct PCI/PCIx1 slot)

  • alternate motherboard? either the similarly priced Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H, or ASUS H97M-Plus

  • a cheap after market cooler simply to be quieter or case fans.
