1 stick 8GB or 2 4GB sticks?

I eventually want 16gb RAM total, but can't afford another 8gb right now. Would dual channel be better with 2 4gb sticks, or should I go 8gb, since I would eventually be able to upgrade to 32gb RAM then?

Depends how many sticks your motherboard can hold. If it can hold 8 then get the 4 GB sticks as more are better.

Well, in my opinion it is best to get more sticks because->

1.) Melted RAM slots, Ruining your RAM 2.) Accidentally shocking your RAM making it a potato. ( I did this once, luckily it was only a useless 512mb stick from an old laptop. 3.) The more the merrier.

IF you are gonna grab another 8GB in the near future get a single stick, than when you get another stick it work better.
