I posted a very similar build but had some edits and I think I now have it all sorted out...I'll be using this for my oculus rift dk2 and I will hopefully getting more into PC gaming in general. Please let me know if this will work and feel free to suggest edits...any tips for buying and building processes is greatly appreciated too. Thanks!

You should update your mobo to a z97 for a more future proof system.

Probably a dumb question but... I was wondering about this myself- the SSD is a 2.5" but the case doesn't have a 2.5" bay. Where does the SSD go?

The case should come with an adapter going from 3.5' to 2.5', if not you can just put the SSD anywhere with double sided tape or Velcro. They don't have any moving parts so you wont have to worry about anything breaking.
