Well 8GB is more then enough for gaming really. And you can use what's left to get a better GPU.

Hmm, yeah but 16 gigabytes is usually good for real power users who do lot's of video rendering and editing, and multitasking. There's no need to add more RAM to future-proof your build, because it's already future-proofed! You can cut off a stick of RAM and you always have the ability to add more RAM in the future.
