Time is ticking down to my birthday, upon which time I am going to treat myself to a new Gaming PC. Just wanting to see if anyone had any final tips/ideas.

If this is for gaming I would advise you to save some money in the SSD and downgrade it to a 128GB one (no need for more, just put your most important files and your OS and done), now, you can either put 4x4GB for 16GB of RAM or 4x2GB RAM for 8GB. More RAM slots give you better performance, usually.

I don't know XFX video cards so I can't say anything about them, all though, I would probably search for a Asus, EVGA or MSI one.

Hope I helped

For gaming,

  • Corsair H60: Not necessary. Consider air cooling such as Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. If intent on liquid cooling, may as well move up to the Corsair H100i for performance.
  • Corsair Vengeance 16GB: 16GB not necessary unless video editing or such is also expected. Using 8GB is quite sufficient. e.g. Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9 @ £59.98 + FREE s/h. If you wish to squeeze out more performance, G.SKILL F3-1600C8D-8GAB @ £64.99 + FREE s/h.
