First build. Suggestions.

For the past few days I've been trying to set up my first build. I have a 1,000$ budget, but the lower the better. I do not plan to use this pc for intense gaming, although the occasional game once in a while doesn't hurt! Will be using it mainly for programming (java, c++,c, python, etc.. ), browsing the web and such. I've managed to get to one pc I feel comfortable with, but I don't know if it's an overkill to build this computer for just what I want.

Any opinion would be greatly appreciated. I wanna know if this is an overkill of a build for what I want or if maybe is just badly built. Thanks!

EDIT: forgot to post the link to my saved build. Sorry for that. Here it is http://pcpartpicker.com/user/felipevd/saved/HGBhP6
