I need your opinion on my new PC

So I'm building a computer part list for my first computer, I want it to be decent enough to run all games available today (high, at a decent fps rate), some amateur video editing (not really heavy stuff, just premiere and some after effects) and electronic music producing. I also program, but you can write code on anything.

Give me your opinions and what things could I change for a cheaper one without compromising quality, by the way I need a motherboard with WiFi or a good WiFi card

Hallo, I see that you are using a i7, excellent choice for gaming my friend, you don't really need a 280x, its just an overclocked 280, I would use a GTX 780 which is a little bit better then a 290x, with less needed power and cheaper then a 290x.

Everything seems in order here, would play BF4 and COD:Ghosts on Ultra-High I assume. But consider getting a better power supply, in case one day you want to upgrade your CPU or GPU

Its good, but also expensive, go for a 800 watt power supply.

Hey buddy,

Very nice build here. Only thing I would change is the RAM, downgrade to 8GB, if you're not planning on doing too much video editing and what not, there's no point getting an extra 8GB for that little time you'll be doing it. The money you scratch off from the RAM, put a little bit more money into the power supply, possibly go for a 80+ gold Power supply of some form, maybe a Corsair RM650w?

Other than that nice build here

I disagree, for say one day he wanted to get into video editing and such, what he is really spending money into is that moniter, where he can get a 98$ one for 1920x1080 aswell.

I didn't see any LED 24 inch monitor for that price. I know I'm going to have the same resolution on other monitors but I want something that is 24 inch (not too big like a 27 or too small like a 22) and LED.

I can also upgrade my RAM later on if I needed

I am relooking your parts, and I am wondering why you need a liquid cooler, why not just a regular fan?

  • 1 point

I don't know, as I said I'm new to all this. After overclocking what's a good cooler?

A good cooler dosen't matter, anymore. Now its all about how silent it is, and its RPM. Just look for those two and you'll be fine.

1000w is a bit overkill, but it does make for future proof and heaps of headroom :)

Yeah, I know. I plan on upgrading this computer constantly (about once a year for the next five years until I graduate from college and earn my own money instead of using my parents money)

Then that seems like a good power supply imo :)

Also, your WiFI can be a USB Network Stick.

I'm probably going to add a network stick (So I can do some "pen testing" but I also want to have a WiFi integrated board

1 280x will not consume that much power.. you don't need that power supply unless going 3x crossfire

plan on doing it in the future
