My uncle Bill asked me to build him a new PC, so here i am. This is going to be my second build ever and i need some help. I've already chosen all the components, are they good/do they work well? He will mainly use it for office programs and some gaming. Thanks in advance!

What he said. I was lucky enough to pick up the V300 before it became crap lol

  • I don't think it's a problem if i use 1600MHz memories, am i wrong? The FX-6300 can handle memories up to 1866MHz
  • Maybe a Samsung 840 EVO is a better choice?
  • He already has a Windows 7 Home Premium license from the old PC

  • DDR3-1600 can be used but since the DDR3-1866 pricing is similar/lower, with similar performance, may as well purchase it. e.g. Kingston HX318C10FRK2/8 @ €71.60 + FREE s/h.
  • Yes. The Samsung would definitely outperform the V300 in all aspects.

just a note.. the 212 evo is huge..I was unable to verify if it fit in the case as the manufacture isnt clear on max "HSF" but seeing as its only 7.25 inches or 184mm its unlikely as the 212 is 159mm or 6.25 inches alone. I always try and get something at least 8 inches wide.

I had the same doubt, but reading some forums and some builds here on pcpartpicker it seems it fits. BTW i'll write an email to BitFenix support asking them info about the maximum HFS height and share their answer. Thanks for the note!

I do like the spec 2 or 3 case, and had my doubts about it, but found people saying it fit with like 2mm to spare. This case is my pick for budget builds.

The SPEC-02 and SPEC-03 are excellent cases, but they're are too aggressive for my uncle, and he also doesn't like LEDs

Still waiting an answer from BitFenix support, i opened a ticked asking them what is the maximum HSF height supported by the Neos
