I use Autodesk almost every day, and I have that same cpu. I saw the biggest performance boost when I added an ssd though.

Yup, an SSD would really speed things up - you may not need a big one as you could use it only for OS and programs.

Also the power supply is pretty basic. That's generally something you don't want to skimp on. I'd suggest:
