I want to know what's better for gaming ty. :D
8 is outdated and you can upgrade to 8.1 for free.
Most people tend to say 8.1 is better for gaming, as it is typically a faster, more responsive OS. Also, it will be supported in the future for longer.
is it stable?
like will it not shut down while I play mc or im on steam
So far it's been extremely stable though. No random shutdowns or BSODs. Only when I was messing with stuff and on initial setup.
I just installed it a couple of days ago, and so far all positive. (Coming from a mac user that uses Windows 7 often too)
Only issue was plugging in a logitech receiver into a USB3 port was unstable, until I plugged it into a USB2. But that was before I did any updates, and it could have also easily been a motherboard driver issue or something.
Other than that, no problems. Just make sure to turn off CSM (I think it's called) in your uefi bios. (should be in boot preferences). I was tearing my hair out trying to turn on Fast boot, but when I did, it caused BSOD's until I reinstalled the OS via UEFI (with the CSM thing turned off)
EDIT: Here we go. http://wiki.phoenix.com/wiki/index.php/Compatibility_Support_Module Basically it lets you install other OS's besides 8. Turn this feature off. When you choose to boot off the CD, make sure it says UEFI somewhere in the option you are choosing.
hey man walkingGeek what games do you play? let me know.
I'm not really a huge gamer.
I love simulators though, if they count.
The computer I installed 8.1 on was for a music editing build for my dad.
