What the title says, whats a good powersupply for this build http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/vortex25565/saved/6D9tt6
With the 290 in there I'd try to spring for the EVGA 750 G2. Much better than the 650 you have in terms of quality and that will give you some headroom.
i also recomend.spending a few extra bucks on the sapphire 290 tri x. its only a few bucks and its much better aswell.
the psu u selected may look good on paper but if.you take a.closer look it only puts out 20A on the 12v rail compared.to something like a 650 watt rosewill capstone which puts out a constant 54A on the 12v rail.
get this one instead:
it puts out 62.4A on the 12v rail.
remember that one amp is.equal to 12 watts.on the 12v rail. so u take the total wattage of the psu and divide by 12 to get the real amp. anything lower than this amp means it is a bad psu. and since 80+ gold psu are more energy efficient u also save on the electric bill while getting a solid quality psu at the same time.
so spend the extra cash on a solid psu instead of.going cheap or you'll find yourself with issues when ur video card goes out all the time because it isnt getting enough juice.
The other variant of the evga, the g1 not the g2, does not have this issue. One is a single rail, the other is multi rail. The single rail can take a much higher load on that rail
also the ram u chose is 10 CAS, if.you want some extra performance with 7 CAS buy two sets of these for a few mofe bucks
blue 1600 CAS 7 ram
now it looks like u want a red.theme so if thats the case then try this red ram with 9 CAS:
red 1866 CAS 9 ram
red 1600 CAS 9 ram
any of these three will be better than u have now but if your.budget is tight than what u have is also fine. just something to.think about if u want some.extra performance.out of your ram for a few extra bucks.
i recommend getting the red 1866 CAS 9 ram
the wattage in this build will go even bigeer the 1000 watts
here is a good psu http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220p21200x1
he doesnt need 1200 watts for a.single video card. anything over 750.watts is overkill.
if he getts that he will have roomm for upgradablity anf a 1200 watt psu
will work quiter under the lod of 800 watt
This is fine for dual gpu, but on a single one, a 750w is recommended and is the perfect amount for stability and longevity.
