OS for new build

Making myself a new computer now that my old one is finally done for, and got everything ordered but the graphics card (hoping to order that tomorrow)... And come to find that I can't find my old multi-user install disc of Windows 7 I got free when I was in undergrad, so it looks like I will have to turn elsewhere :/. I guess I may as well try and get the most appropriate OS for my system, since that's the case... I'm planning on gaming, emulating, streaming and video editing. Do you guys think I should I just go with Windows 7 or 8? Here's my build, if it much matters:

Edit: Oh yeah, and of course if you guys have good ideas on how I can not drop another hundred dollars on getting an OS that'd be great too, though I'm not very experienced with software so far so Windows is probably my safest bet.

I can't find my old multi-user install disc of Windows 7...

  • If you have a valid key from your school days, you can download the ISO from various websites. e.g. HeiDoc.net
  • If required to purchase a new OS, Windows 9 is expected to be released before the year end. You can use the Windows 7 in trial mode for a few months if intent on purchasing Win9.
