My mobo is the 970 gaming atx am3+. I was wondering if this cpu would work without a bios update. The processor is the AMD FX-4350. Are these 2 parts compatible? And if they are do I need a bios update. IF there is a bios update how do I do it?? Thanks

I had to look up your saved part list to find out what the manufacturer of that board is (MSI).

The FX-4350 was released on April 29, 2013. Your motherboard probably supported it at release or shortly after. Unfortunately MSI doesn't provide info for BIOS release dates, they just show all supported processors with the current BIOS. Your processor is supported.

The current BIOS release date is May 30, 2014. Retail boards available now were probably made later than this and probably have this BIOS, but even if not, and older BIOS would still support it just fine.

Executive summary: you should be just fine.
