Ideal Fan Setup For NZXT H440

Hi all,

I've got me a shiny new H440. I know this case has airflow issues, so I was wondering what advice you could give on fan setup? I'm thinking...

3 x SP-120 on front pulling air in... 2 x SP-140 on top mounted radiator pushing air out... 1x AF-140 on back pushing are out...?

I would do the following:

  • 3 120mm fans pulling filtered air in
  • 2 140mm top fans/ radiator fans
  • no rear fan

This is to maintain positive pressure, that is you have more intake than exhaust, so air is forced out of any small cracks or other ventilation. If you have negative pressure, as you would if you installed the 140mm fan in the back, it would pull unfiltered air in through the ventilation and in turn result in dust buildup.

Correct me if this isn't a good idea but could you have the rear fan but run all you intakes at a higher RPM and slow down your exhausts?

That might work. I would recommend no rear fan though, as in the H440, it still looks good without it.
