I personally would go with an i7. It does an awesome job with video editing. something like this. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NQLqWZ I went for a lower wattage PSU and swapped the mobo due to the CPU change. I also went for cheaper RAM since the high clockspeed is nice, but the truth is it does very little to overall performance unless your using integrated graphics like AMD APUs. It raised the price a bit, but when it comes to rendering video the i7 is just wicked fast.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/IG007PL/saved/X6vscf What about this I just added a cooler and continued the black and red theme but I didn't want the ram to be red but black so there is only some red what do you think ?

that will work well. I just wanted to stay near your posted budget. That will work. Lastly if for some reason you want to upgrade to SLI this will support that as well.

I accualy thought about sli, do you have any idea that could bring the cost down but keep the cost down but still maintain the black with low red theme thanks for all the help and the ratio would be about 65% gaming to 35% video editing so the 8 - core FX 8350 again thanks for all the help

well with the build i suggested you could remove the i7 and replace with an i5 and skim off about $100, but it will be slower rendering.

IMO even the highest end AMD chips don't compete with intels i5 and i7. I wouldn't SLI with the AMD chip. I would rather do it running intel. I cannot see a way to budget the machine for SLI without creating a bottleneck in the CPU.
