So I was trying to get my build down to $400...and still not quite there. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XGXcNG

Anything unnecessary or any issues I should be worried about or any other ways to lower the price?

Use a corsair power supply and take off the cooler. The case doesn't work with the cooler.

Also team xxx ram tends to not be very good. Friend had team Zeus I think it was and when he installed it his pc wouldn't boot

If your looking for super cheap, a Pentium g3258 would perform just as well as the i3, which saves you $50 right there.

I would honestly not get the SSD and get a 1tb HHD. Just my opinion.

I'm trying the same thing. Does anyone have anything you'd change with mine?

The 750ti is good but with no promo's or discounts something like an r9 270 is better performance for same cost. Also, this is just my personal preference, I would try for 8GB of RAM. Otherwise good build, I'm glad Intel finally has a budget conscious processor like the g3258.
