You can ignore the accessories. First build. Hoping to make it last a few years. Would appreciate input and opinions
Well, that's quite an extreme build, but honestly, the parts aren't well picked.
It's your choice, yes, but sincerely you can go way better. So I would probably put in the new Intel Core i7-5820K, change the motherboard for an ASUS one. Then, go with 8GB DDR4 RAM, you can upgrade that later with more. Instead of 2x 980 nVIDIA superclocked go with 2x 970 nVIDIA no superclocked. For such an extreme build at least a 80+ gold power supply would be required, and maybe get a less expensive audio gear? Its your choice but a 7.1 surround sound headset would do the job for 100$...
Well I gave my opinion, do as you wish.
Thanks for your input. I really dont know what im doing so I do need it.
I agree, at least get a i7 4790k and 16GB of faster ram for alot cheaper.
I was told changing for an i7 was useless if im just intending to game
Give me a minute to go over this and I'll see what I can come up with
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
Moved to Z97 chipset, upgraded to Haswell i5, found a less expensive 1 TB drive
Don't really need 16GB RAM for gaming
SLI 980's is heavy overkill, SLI 970's are a bit more cost efficient and should still last quite a while
And yeah, a 7.1 headset would do fine.. or a cheaper set of stereo speakers..
Wicked thanks a lot. My buddy suggested that cpu but motherboard didnt support before. Ive been living off laptops for the last 6 years and am trying to get educated again with towers.
This should last aleast 7 years and is ddr4 and has room for another gtx980. Although its over your original price but its only by $250
