New build, possible to install a trial version of Windows 8.1 from USB?

I will be building my first PC next week and I am a bit worried about the OS. I won't be buying Windows 8.1 until the beginning of December so would it be possible to load a trial version of Windows 8.1 onto a USB drive and then use it to boot/install windows on a new PC with no OS?

If so, how do you do it and how big of a USB drive would I need?

Where would you get the trial version of Windows 8.1? You could get the Windows 10 preview on a USB stick and install it, but not 8.1.

Hi,

May be check this Install Windows 8, 8.1 from a Bootable USB drive if you download the trial, will be asking for an email address. Your trial key will be sent there and trial only works for a limited time, and you cannot purchase a key separately and enter it later to continue working. The system must be wiped out completely (you can back up your data of course) and a fresh copy with your purchased license must be set up. you can activate your trial version using the key from your bought copy.

Hope this helps.
