Since this is the first time I've ever tried to do this, I wanna ask the experts for their opinions :) http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/NCR7yc The reason behind getting 2 1gb cards is that because cash is a little tight at the moment so I'm going to buy one then buy the other when I have the spare cash to do so. Also if it was worth it I'd buy another 8gb RAM module once I have the funds. The purpose of this computer is to be able to use CAD packages like Solidworks and do a bit of gaming, although I'm really not bothered about Ultra-graphic capability.

EDIT: Also is the CPU cooler I've chosen suitable? Also the screen i have listed there is being sold to me by a friend, all i really know about it is that it is a 24" monitor

Only a quick suggestion maybe you could change your memory to 2x4gb for dual channel, http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f317000cl11d8gbxl. Cheaper and Faster.
