Hi everyone, I'm ordering my parts next week and need to know if this is a good build for gaming. I want to play games on ultra at 1080p with about 100fps and play games in 4k on medium settings with 60fps.Edit: I have a 65 inch 4K TV. The Samsung hu7250. For 1080P, it'll be great. For 4K? Forget it. I'd be surprised if it reaches 30FPS on low settings at 4K. If you want to play 4K games at medium settings at 60 FPS, the minimum amount of GPU power you would need is two GTX 980s.

Alright, so 4K is out of the question I guess. Thanks for the help!

Exactly, people have this idea that low end hardware can run 4k games at reasonable frame rates and settings.

R9 295X2s are great if you only have 2 PCIe expansion slots, like in an ITX build. A single 980 will beat a single R9 290X easily, so the R9 295X2 is the ideal single card setup for 4k, but the 2 980s will outperform it easily.

Should I change my motherboard to a MSI z97 gaming 5?

Thanks for the feedback. I did look at that case and it was a tough decision between it and the R4. I decided to go with the R4 because they would be equal in price but my local store has an R4 in stock; I would have to order the Enthoo. I forgot to mention I have a 65 inch 4K TV. The Samsung hu7250. I really wanted a cherry MX keyboard, however I guess I could use a cheap one. Suppose I do take out the keyboard, what should I spend that money on?

Good thinking, I think I will only play at 1080p since 4K gaming is just too expensive right now.
