Intel Build Under $650

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this whole pc building business and this is my first attempt, I've spent some time researching and I think this is pretty good value but I'd like some input on whether it all makes sense from a more expert perspective. My budget is $650US ($700CAD). Let me know if there are any compatibility issues or if I'm over/under spending on certain components relative to the overall functionality or price.

Thanks!

Not sure if the 4690k is on sale north of the border but it is on sale here so I thought to toss that in while staying under budget.

That would be sweet. I'll check out if it's on sale, I just have one question: Is it a good idea to add it to the build if i'm using an H97 mobo instead of a z97? Doesn't the K indicate overclock, but the H mobos can't utilize that? Is the 4690K better regardless of OC? Or would the difference without OC be negligible?

Thanks!

You are correct about the H mobo, what sucks is for the longest time there was a MSI z mobo for 69.99 (good reviews as well) and it just went back up to $117.

The 4690k is still the fastest i5. While on sale it's definitely worth the extra $20.

In Canada, its about $45 more. I feel like without the OC, it's probably not worth it... Thoughts? Also, any thoughts on the overall build?
