Need Build Advice $1,000 i5 vs i7 PC

Hi guys,

This will be my first build and i am indecisive with i5 vs i7 thing. I mainly want to go with i7 so i don't have to upgrade cpu's for couple years and also I think i7 will have more longevity?

How can I make the PC silent?

I want a silent, high performing, gaming pc. I will use it to watch movies, run several applications at once, browse etc, every day use as well.

I want to keep the build at $1,000 aka £620. After researching I've put together a build and I am over budget by 100$.

I would like to know how I can improve it if I am making a wrong choice with any parts and what I can do to reduce the price a bit and also maybe someone can change the build to i7 and do a better build for $1k?

Also I am planning to get everything with the anticipation of price drops during black friday? How much will I save if any?

Your comments are appreciated everyone, sorry about the too many questions!

Regards, Armani

If your going to do a lot gaming, use a AMD A10, Those have great graphics built in, and your GPU won't need to be as powerful,I would recommend using a GeForce GT 740, and maybe you could give the link to your build?

For gaming and everyday stuff the i7 is pointless unless you want to show off :) Also it wont last you longer and there is no need to upgrade an i5 unless you are a serious photo/video editing and intense rendering

you are better off with the 270x for the same price.

Defentitly go for the AMD A10, it will destroy the i5, not sure about the i7 though, that is a beast.

I want an intel cpu.

Then shoot for an i5, that is the best option considering your budget and preference, my computer has an i5 itself and is extremely fast, considering that I only have 4 GB of ram(I took some out).

what about ways to make the computer silent. i don't like hearing noises.

and if i do make it silent will it affect performance

Well the actual computer parts are pretty quiet, you won't hear them unless you put your ear on the case, but the GPU has a fan on it, that might make a quiet fan noise, and when choosing a case fan look for the lowest Db rating, that means how load it will be.
