There is a middle ground.

You could get an i5 and a less expensive mobo then fit a GPU into your first build. Or choose an AMD 8 core CPU; which will have better overall performers than their Athlon line and put that into your second build.(along with a different mobo)

If your serious about gaming then your not going to be satisfied with integrated graphics. And if your serious about video editing you'll want something better than an Athlon.

Again, there is middle ground...

I apologize for not bringing this until now.

I'm not too serious for gaming, since I play it casually and record my gameplay at times. But mostly, I want to make something that I can be proud of (Hence Project Phazon).

I have seen some bad graphics (I have Intel HD Graphics on my Laptop, which is running a Pentium B950 on a Lenovo B570, so yeah, it's kinda bad, but not too much to me), but Personally, I'm likely going to record my gameplay at 1080p (I have no plans to record at 4K) And upgrade later on when I need to. That's why I'm not afraid to stick with the Intel HD Graphics 4600. I have also seen benchmarks where the HD 4600 will play some games at decent settings.

Also, The reason I have the Athlon Dragon in consideration is I do want to prove that AMD Still is usable for gaming outside of their FX line. Although it will probably not do as good as the Core i7 for video editing and gaming, when hooked up with a R9 270X, I'm sure it will play games at 1080p no problem. But as for the future of the Athlon, yes I can see why it may not last longer than a few years.

So Yeah, I'm not a total ROG competitive Gamer, but I also don't care about the quality of how I'm playing. As long as the build can play games well and have the performance I'm gonna be proud of for awhile, That is what will make me happy.

I'm sorry for not bringing this up until now, but It's been what's on my mind since posting this thread.

Thanks!
