First computer build.

Hello,

This is my first ever computer build, and I want to see if I've built my part list properly. My computer will be used for competitive gaming, streaming, and recording, so it needs very high FPS and silky-smooth gameplay. My budget is $2,500. Here is my current build:

Update: Changed OS, now have $300 expansion room. Update 2: Changed graphics cards and made several improvements.

Thanks!

I'd suggest going with Windows 8.1 64-bit, instead of that $500 OS.

I've heard bad things about Windows 8. How much different is 8.1? Would Windows 7 still be the better choice?

Windows 8 has a UI refresh. also, it DOES perform slightly better, but almost unnoticeable. Cheers.

Personally I think 8.1 is very nice. It's far from what 8 was. It's a personal choice, but like DaGeek said, go with a cheaper version of Windows 7.

Okay, so I changed the OS. I'm honestly curious about 8.1 now. Anyhow, the OS change has given me $300 more to work with. Anything else I should change?

Made the GPU change because your previous one was overpriced, and these two will smash anything the other one could have even tried to do.

Question, does the tower you swapped in have fans inside it? I wanted the other tower because it had three fans pre-installed.

I am pretty sure that a copy of windows is NOT suppose to cost ALMOST $500! windows should cost $119 to $199. everything else looks good! Cheers.

That's Windows Ultimate. Is Ultimate worth it? Does it provide anything particularly helpful?
