Hello guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me out with my build. I'm not sure that everything would be compatible together.

Please feel free to advice me! What other parts should I add?

Thanks, Naz

First of all, I'd go for a Z97 board over the Z87 one you've selected, and second you don't need a Wired Network Adapter. Your onboard ethernet will have the same function. You also don't need a Sound Card, onboard is the same or better.

Thank you! I will be removing the extra stuff. And I will look for the Z97.

Personally I would go for the Z97-A.

What are you going to use it for? What is your budget? What is the price for the video card, none listed on your link?

$1500 is my budget. And I will be using it for everything, gaming and editing.. Not sure why the video card price didn't pop up there..

A little over budget. Ideas to cut cost; do you really need a bluray writer? Do you really need the Pro version of Windows? Expensive case, have you looked at the Phanteks Enthoo Pro?

  • Added a good value, effective CPU cooler
  • Z97 motherboard, the Z97-A is good
  • Faster memory
  • Had to tone down the storage to keep cost down, 120GB SSD for OS and applications, 1TB HDD for games and storage
  • 970 GPU much better than the 770
  • Added a top quality PSU
  • Removed sound card and wired network adaptor, motherboard caters for this
