Trying to spend around $1200. I am student who uses process intensive programs for my engineering courses. I am also an occasional gamer in the RTS genre. So any pointers would be great. Thanks.

If you can afford it get an i7 instead of an i5.

i7 is the best CPU on the market right now and it should last a while before having to upgrade again.

you build looks ok brother but I agree with my fellow commenters better get a i7 for your use ,250 gb ssd will be ok for normal use and reallocate the money to processor or GPU
