http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm This seems to recommend 700W for SLI GTX 970s. That likely accounts for the decline in performance of PSUs over time and the fact that people often go for cheaper PSUs, so a platinum seasonic might be fine (no clue how good that specific PSU is).

Interesting you are getting a platinum PSU. Have you calculated the likely energy cost savings in the lifetime of the PSU compared to being able to get a 80+ gold PSU for a lot cheaper?
